About Us and Our Practice
Seay Educational Consulting is an independent consulting practice that guides and directs high school students and their parents through the college admission process, from the search for good-fit colleges, through the college application sequence, to the selection of the best fit from among the colleges that offered admission. Fit is more than a byword at SEC; it is bedrock. Finding a college where a student fits means finding one where he will thrive and mature, where the environment suits his learning and motivational styles, and where he will be happy and, over the long haul, successful.
Cameron Seay, co-founder with Mary Seay, was graduated from the Virginia Military Institute and then served as an Army intelligence officer for 23 years; during that time he earned an MPA degree from Troy State University. After retiring from military service, he earned BA and MA degrees in English from James Madison University. He has knowledge and experience working with young people, having taught college and high-school English for 10 years and then serving as both college advisor and director of college advising in an independent high school for 8 years. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania’s Association for College Admission Counseling Summer Institute for Secondary School and College Admission Counselors (2003), the Harvard Summer Institute on College Admission (2005), and the Independent Educational Consultants Association’s Summer Training Institute (2011). As a student of colleges, he has made over 180 college and university campus visits, and is a professional committed to his clients’ desires and needs. He has earned an excellent reputation with families, college and university deans and directors, and with the leaders and general memberships of the professional organizations to which he belongs:

~ National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC)
~ Potomac & Chesepeake Association of College Admission Counseling (PCACAC)
